About Chroma Painting.

Whether your daughter wants to change her room color because she’s “not a little kid anymore,” you’d like to give your deck a face-lift before the big neighborhood cookout, you’d like to turn your first house into the home you’ve always dreamed of, or your office space is dull and you’re ready to make a big impression, Chroma will create a great experience for you by executing your vision with the highest quality.

Chroma Painting began when two best friends put their heads together to provide a better, friendlier, more personal painting service. AJ Dressler

Co-Founder, CEO

Originally from Ontario, Canada, AJ was involved in his family’s painting business from a young age. His Bachelors Degree in Counseling taught him the value of people and relationships. He carried this value with him when he started his very own first painting business in Canada. After college, AJ got married his wonderful wife and worked as a foreman for a construction company in St. Louis. Here he saw the importance of not just a good client relationship, but of a trustworthy contractor/employee relationship as well. He moved to NC and worked for a start-up company before going to work for a painting franchise. After getting back into painting, AJ was inspired to eventually start Chroma, a new, value-driven painting service. His incredible work-ethic, loyalty, and family have always guided his life.

“I like to think outside the box and make sure our projects go beyond good to great.”

In his spare time, AJ loves trying new restaurants (he loves a good steak), spending time downtown, and just enjoying life. He also loves playing guitar, spending time with his family, and working out. AJ lives in the Triangle with his wife Claire, their daughter Adalyn, and precious soon-to-be baby number 2!

Bryan Vickery

Co-Founder, CFO

Originally from Greer, South Carolina, Bryan received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.  He spent most of his career in a storm water engineering role, helping to design storm drain systems, SCM’s, Bridges, Culverts, and other storm water infrastructure for a variety of clients. As a child, Bryan’s dream was to become a major league baseball player, and now he gets to hit home runs slinging paint. Bryan has an amazing attention to detail and doesn’t get stuck in the weeds.

“As much as I joke around, I’m very serious about the work we do and of course my family.”

In his spare time, Bryan loves going to Canes games, drinking fine whiskey, reading to his son, as well as watching him destroy the house right after they’ve cleaned it. Bryan and his family love living in the Triangle and are thrilled they’ve chosen a place to live that offers so much for everyone.

Hillary is the Director of Client Relations at Chroma, the friendly face who oversees and develops projects from the start. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Advocacy for At-Risk Populations and a Minor in Child Development and Family Relations. Driven by a desire to make a difference in her community and improve the lives of those around her, she pursued a career in healthcare. After years spent in healthcare growing her experience and passion for relationship building, leading a team, and making an impact, she decided to integrate her talent for design into her profession. Hillary has been attracted to art since childhood, and after hearing Chroma’s story and meeting the team, she was all hands on deck! Hillary builds relationships with customers to provide a positive experience with exceptional service. She shares her vision of endless possibilities for transforming an ordinary space into a desirable work of art.

“My goal is to inspire people to think outside the box. I’ve always wanted to design and create things that would last. Choosing a profession in painting wasn’t much of a decision because it came so naturally.”

Hillary enjoys a multitude of creative outlets like woodworking, designing apparel, and DIY projects, reinventing everyday items into functional pieces of art. She and her fiancé Kyle spend their days going on adventures exploring the world yet to be experienced. Alongside them trot their pride and joy, Maliah and Luna, two mutts with a mind of their own! In her spare time Hillary keeps herself grounded, constantly challenging the status quo, determined to positively influence others and make a difference in the world.
